— About

Built for men who carry a lot — quietly.

Hampshire countryside at dawn — nature therapy and men's wellbeing setting

— The story

From personal practice
to shared space.

NERVA started where most useful things start — from need. From a long stretch of being switched on, holding too much, and slowly noticing the cost. The practices that worked weren't dramatic. They were simple, repeatable and rooted in nature.

Cold water. Open fire. Time around still water. Walking with people who don't need you to perform. Sound, vibration, breath. Over time it became clear other men needed the same kind of space — built for them, on their terms.

We're not therapists. We're not life coaches. We hold structured space for regulation and clarity — and step back so you can do the work yourself.

— Principles

What we hold to, and what we leave at the gate.

01

Regulation first

We focus on the conditions for a calmer nervous system — environment, structure, simplicity — before anything else.

02

Men-only by design

Built around the realities men tend to carry: responsibility, pressure and constant output. The tone reflects that.

03

Nothing forced

No performance, no identity to adopt, no obligation to share. You're always in control of how far you take it.

04

Grounded, not soft

Inspired by lived experience. Informed by evidence-based approaches to nervous system regulation.

— Base

Headlands Farm,
Hampshire.

Core sessions are held at our Hampshire restorative base — a quiet, working space away from town noise. Outdoor experiences run seasonally across Hampshire, Wiltshire and West Sussex.

The location matters. So does the room. So does the fire. We pay attention to detail because the environment does most of the work.

Taylor — NERVA founder & host

Founder & Host

Taylor

I created NERVA from a simple belief: men need spaces where they can slow down without being analysed, fixed, or judged. I'm a father and business owner. I understand the quiet pressure many men carry — responsibility, expectation, performance, and constant mental load. My role isn't to act as a therapist or guru. It's to host structured environments where men can regulate, reflect, and rebuild strength at their own pace. With a background in business, community-building, and long-standing interest in physical training and nervous system resilience, I focus on clarity, structure, and consistency. Sessions are calm. Steady. Intentional.

Sam — NERVA sound facilitator

Sound Facilitator

Sam

Sam has been guiding sound sessions for over five years, developing a steady and considered approach that prioritises presence over performance. Her work centres on creating calm, structured environments where people can properly switch off. There is no spectacle and no pressure — just carefully held space and clear intention. At NERVA, Sam brings quiet confidence to Sonic Reset. She holds the room with consistency and care, allowing men to settle without expectation or judgement.

Lawrie — NERVA wildfire facilitator

Wildfire Facilitator

Lawrie

Lawrie served 22 years in the British Army and earned full Army Colours for sea fishing during his time in service. For over 30 years he has been involved in the Scouts, teaching practical bushcraft skills across all ages — including shelter building, fire lighting, water purification, cordage making, and responsible outdoor living. Having experienced his own mental health challenges, Lawrie later trained as a Mental Health First Aider, motivated by a desire to support others in steady, practical ways. Wildfire sessions reflect his approach: simple skills, fire, tea, woodland, and unforced conversation. Nothing dramatic. Nothing performative. Just time outside, learning something real, and allowing space for perspective to return.

Fillip Counselling

NERVA is not therapy. We recognise that structured group work is not always enough on its own. Where appropriate, NERVA may signpost individuals toward professional one-to-one support with Philip Bird, a qualified counsellor working locally.
